OM SYSTEM registers IM042 camera without a retail name
The earliest Singapore record is May 20; later documentation identifies the camera as PEN.

An exact May 20, 2026 date filter in Singapore’s IMDA database returns ESER/26/3022: model IM042, brand OM System, Digital Camera, Wireless LAN/RLAN, supplied by MASTER D’ IMAGING PRIVATE LIMITED.[1]
The marketing-name field is empty. The code alone does not identify a new PEN or establish sensor, viewfinder or pricing details.[1]
Update — June 3, 2026: two more IM042 registrations appear under exact June 2 and June 3 date filters: ESER/26/3353 and ESER/26/3378 respectively.[1]
Update — August 22, 2026: PhotoRumors reported IM042 and speculated about PEN. This is the report date, not the registration date.[4]
Update — September 9, 2026: OM SYSTEM formally announced PEN.[3]
Update — October 7, 2026: a Japanese October 30 sales date was announced, with some orders potentially delivered in spring 2027 or later.[5]
The official PEN manual states IM042 on its first page, establishing the model’s identity. Its first public availability date has not been established, so it does not show that the PEN identity was public at the May registration stage.[2]
