OM SYSTEM announced the OM-5 Mark II on June 17, 2025, updating its lightweight outdoor camera with a revised grip, USB-C connectivity and a dedicated CP button. Sand beige joins silver and black body finishes. The camera weighs approximately 418g including its battery and memory card.[1]
A 20.37MP Live MOS sensor works with the TruePic IX processor, supported by a 121-point all-cross-type phase-detection AF system. Five-axis in-body stabilization provides up to 6.5 stops of compensation at the image center under the specified test conditions. Supported stabilized lenses can add synchronized correction, with results dependent on the lens and measurement conditions.[1]
The revised grip improves finger support, while the CP button gives quicker access to computational features including high-resolution shooting, Live ND and focus stacking. USB-C supports charging and external power from a mobile battery. With an appropriately protected lens, the system offers IP53 protection and operation down to −10°C.[1]
The original Japanese announcement scheduled body and lens-kit sales for late July, without specifying an exact day.[1]
Update, July 8, 2025: OM SYSTEM set Japan’s release date at July 18. It also warned that demand for body-only units could delay delivery of some orders.[2]
