OM SYSTEM announced OM-3 ASTRO on February 10, 2026. Based on OM-3, it changes the infrared-cut filter in front of the sensor to provide approximately 100% transmission at the Hα wavelength, helping record red emission nebulae.[1]
The camera combines a 20.37MP stacked Live MOS sensor with TruePic X processing. Dedicated color profiles address red nebulae and starry landscapes, while custom settings support stacking and handheld night-sky workflows.[1]
Japan’s announcement scheduled made-to-order sales for February 27. It also lists the compatible BMF-LPC01 light-pollution and BMF-SE01 star-softening filters. Both were already on sale; they are accompanying existing accessories.[1]
