Three OM SYSTEM telephoto zooms gain 50fps SH2 support with v1.1
Firmware updates for the 40-150mm F4.0 PRO, 100-400mm IS II and 150-600mm IS enable 50fps SH2 and Pro Capture SH2 shooting with compatible bodies.

OM SYSTEM released firmware v1.1 on October 8, 2026 for three telephoto zooms: M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150mm F4.0 PRO, M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 IS II and M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 150-600mm F5.0-6.3 IS. Its firmware list gives the version and update date for each lens.[1]
Each lens’s release notes confirm that the update enables 50fps shooting in High-Speed Sequential Shooting SH2 and Pro Capture SH2. For users who need that shooting speed, the lens firmware version is therefore an important part of checking their equipment combination.[2][3][4]
Body compatibility is documented too: the official OM-1, OM-1 Mark II and OM-3 tables list all three lenses and specify lens firmware v1.1. Check the body name, full lens model and lens firmware together. A matching focal-length range alone does not establish support for that speed.[5][6][7]
The 100-400mm generation needs particular attention. This update covers the model with “IS II” in its name. The official table dates the original M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 IS’s v1.1 firmware to June 8, 2023. Identical version numbers do not make these the same update.[1]
Start with the official firmware list for installation guidance. It explains that lens updates are performed with a camera body and calls for the latest OM Workspace. Find the entry for the exact lens, then follow the instructions for the camera body being used, rather than selecting a file by version number alone.[1]
Download packages also have body requirements. OM’s Panasonic-specific download page explicitly says its file is for updating through a Panasonic body and cannot be used with OM SYSTEM or OLYMPUS bodies. OM users should consult the firmware list for the appropriate method.[8][1]
